"In a bid to reduce animal cruelty, farmers are urging customers to swap their brown eggs for white ones. The British consumer prefers brown eggs to white, but these brown eggs are layed from brown feathered hens whereas white eggs are laid from white feathered hens. Brown feathered hens can have their beaks blunted when they are day old chicks to stop them pecking each other as adults. White feathered hens are more docile and do not have their beaks blunted but consumers prefer brown eggs. Would you swap your brown egg for a white one in order for farmers to keep more white feathered hens. Or, do you think that brown eggs are more appealing and you would not swap.".
