Do you think that cats should be micro-chipped?

We provided additional information for the question which was:

"Micro-chipping is where a microchip (the size of a grain of rice) is implanted under the skin with a unique serial number which can be traced back to the owner. At the moment the law is that only dogs have to be micro-chipped. Is this a good thing, or do you think it is not needed.".
