Should medical professionals be allowed to put people into a 'suspended animation' state to help save lives?

The above question was asked to the It-Your-Vote community.

We provided additional information for the question which was:

"Humans can only survive for 5 minutes with a normal body temperature of 37 degree C and without a heartbeat to pump the oxygen around the body. After that there is significant brain damage and survival rates are approximately 5%. By placing a victim into suspended animation (a procedure where the body's temperature is brought down to 35 degrees C) this would allow more time for medical teams to treat the victims. Is this a great way forward in medical treatment, or do you think that this is bad idea and too risky to try.".
