With some prisons offering a range of rewards and incentives (such as TV being allowed to study for example), is there a risk of criminals having a better life in jail. Is there good reason to treat our criminals better and motivate them in positive ways to turn their life around. Or is this missing the point and jail should be a punishment and a tough experience. Naturally all prisoners should have basic human rights: not be hurt physically or mentally and receive medical attention if needed. This question is focused on how their time in jail should be used.
