Do you think that the government waited too long before commencing the national lockdown?

"On January 4th the government announced that England would be put into a 3rd national lockdown. Whilst this has been welcomed by most groups there have been suggestions that this move was too late and the government should have acted quicker. Do you agree or do you think that coronavirus is so fast moving that the government is doing its best in a bad situation.".
