Should we skip animal testing for a potential Coronavirus vaccine?

"The US government has approved human trials for a possible Coronavirus vaccine that would skip the animal testing phase. Considering the worldwide pandemic of Coronavirus19 is this a good idea as it could save valuable lives if the trial is successful. Alternatively, could skipping the normal trial methods cause potential dangers from rushing from normal process. ".
