Do you think that zoos are a good idea or are they cruel to animals?

"Zoos are supposed to keep animals in their surroundings as close to their natural habitat as possible. Do you agree with zoos and think they give people a chance to see animals, which they would never see in their natural habitat. Or do you think they are cruel and animals should be able to roam free?".
