"'Board' is a term used for money paid to the owner of your house as 'rent' or 'contribution to bills/food', which is sometimes given when you have started earning money from either part-time or full-time employment on finishing school/college etc. Or do you not ask for board money as they are either not earning enough or saving for something else (maybe a deposit).".
